Manuel Madrid CEO of Fruit Profits and Luis José Montgomery, deputy manager of Innovation at Peruvian company Camposol have visited Planasa’s R&D facilities in Huelva (Spain) to see how the new blueberry varieties commercially released by Planasa are performing.
At this moment of the season Malibu, Marina and Manila are flowering, getting ready to start producing in January. Despite the differences between the six varieties, their all early, very firm and have long shelf life. Moreover, the fruit of the six varieties tend to be crunchy, sweet and with an excellent size.
Manuel and Luis were hosted by our R&D Manager, Miguel Angel Hidalgo and the head of product Alfonso Lopez.
Camposol is Peru’s leading blueberry exporter and a globally recognized company with three important divisions: Camposol Fruits and Vegetables (agro-industry); Marinasol which offers sustainably harvested shrimps and Camposol Internacional, a division that operates abroad as the salesforce of the company.
All the six varieties have been tested in Spain and Mexico, and in 2019 they are being marketed in Spain, Peru and Portugal through licensees.
