Origin: Bred and registered by Planasa - Inotalis. EU 1.233 (7-07-03). Early variety. Recommended for white culture. Excellent commercial presentation. Big calibre. Very good adaptation to warm climates.

Genetic characteristics: Hybrid of clones. Very homogeneous plants, vigorous, rustic with very high productivity and commercial quality criteria. This plant adapts especially well to the culture in very warm climatic areas.

Plant: This plant is much erected and has a medium high height. It branches at a medium height; with good ventilation that protects it form the sicknesses caused by fungus. Very high yield and extremely early. Good qualities for white asparagus. It shows no susceptibility to wind damage. It is earlier in warmer climatic areas. This variety adapts in an excellent way to the very hot climatic areas as the Guadalquivir Valley (Height: 30m; Latitude: 37º N; Longitude: 5º W) where its productive qualities are best shown.

The asparagus: Calibres in Plamaresp are very big, with good and thick homogeneity.
The asparagus have good tip quality, (tips are very well closed) it may be cultivated with black plastic. Tender epidermis and flesh.

Profitability*: Great percentage of Plamaresp production sets to commercial quality; good spears with thick calibres. More than 95% of production have calibres of more than 12mm. Calibres of more than 16mm represent more than 80% of production.* Production potential is high when planting with a density of around 18000 crowns per hectare for white asparagus.

Technical advice: Since it is recommended for white culture, it is advisable to plant with densities of up to 20000 plants per hectare, and then cover with black plastic. Since it is an early variety, beds should not be delayed too much. Bed height should be medium.
