
Genetic characteristics: Hybrid of clones. Plants have very homogeneous characteristics; they are rustic and well adapted to market productivity and quality criteria. This plat adapts very well to be grown in warm and hot climatic areas.
Plant: Plasenesp has medium earliness. Very rustic and vigorous plants. They grow to medium – high height and it branches high. This variety adapts as well to temperate as much as to hot climatic areas as the Guadalquivir Valley (Height: 30m; Latitude: 37º N; Longitude: 5º W) where its productive qualities are best shown. This plant is not susceptible to falling due to wind damage.
The asparagus: Spears have good tip quality, very well closed. Big calibres with percentages of more than 95% bigger than 12 mm, and more than 85 % with diameters of 16 mm or more.* Plasenesp has a big percentage of first and extra quality production, with straight and thick spears. Suitable for white and green asparagus. Epidermis as much as spear flesh have good tender quality.
Profitability*: Yields of Plasenesp are very high. Production potential is high, and it allows a fast harvest due to the thick calibres of the spears of this variety. Semi-early variety.
Technical advice: For cultivating white asparagus, a density of no more than 20000 plants under black plastic is recommended. Since it is not a too early variety, beds are not to be done too early. Beds should have medium height.
