Variety: Donna
Origin: obtained from the natural crossing of two Inotalis varieties. Selected at the Darbonne experimental fields at Le Barp (France). Bred and registered by Darbonne - Inotalis. EU 1482 (06-07-06)

Plant: vigorous with a quite dense foliar mass. Erected plants, with green and smooth foliage. Peduncles are long and strong. Plants of Donna have good tolerance to oidium (mildiew) on leaves. There have been no symptoms observed in fruits so far. Diana has a chilling requirement of 900 hours under +7ºC.

Flowers:
flowers are located levelled with foliage, or slightly over it.
Peduncles are long and strong. Calyx has medium size and is slightly separated for the fruit.


Fruit:
conical to long cuneiform shape; homogeneous. Colour is strong orange - red very bright. Achenes are over the surface. Epidermis is elastic and very resistant; firm flesh.
Standard gustative quality. Fruit calibre is medium to big. Conservation is very good; fruits don’t darken and keep the brightness completely.


Harvest:
Very easy to pick; the peduncles are long and separated from the foliage.
Peduncle breaks easily during harvest. It has a high production, especially for an early variety with strong percentage of first class fruit.


Agronomical characteristics:
Good adaptation to hydroponics production systems as tray plant and fresh plugs. It also adapts well to cultivation on soil under tunnel with frigo plants.


INOTALIS develops all varieties with no use of genetic modification techniques.
