More than 20 producers from Mexican and US companies all of them licensees of Adelita (raspberry) and Sayulita (strawberry) have visited Planasa’s facilities in Huelva (Spain) to see the new upcoming blueberry varieties (October 2019) as well as those of blackberry, raspberry and strawberry.
Planasa was pleased to host in their facilities the Adelita licensees: Mainland Farms, Cal Giant, Berries Paradise, Fresh Kampo, Alpine Fresh, Naturipe, Albert Farms, Dole, Optimal Berry Group, Ramón García and Aureliano Cárdenas but also to give them a tour around Huelva.
They had several key points in their agenda but checking out the new blueberry varieties that are already being harvest in Huelva was on top of the line. According to our R&D team, at least three of these six new varieties could be grown successfully under the Mexican and Californian weather conditions.
These new varieties will be grown in Mexico under the same Adelita model.
After visiting Planasa’s R&D facilities they visit some local and Portuguese farms to see Savana (Planasa´s new strawberry variety) as well as Adelita in different planting dates.
